PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) - A Gazebo Concert featuring Classy Chassy Country will be June 23 in Perryville.

The summer concert will be at the Gazebo on the downtown square on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

You can bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a relaxed evening in the cool shade of the trees on the Court House lawn.

'A Taste of the Holidays' wine trail Nov. 10-11

CAPE GIRARDEAU AND PERRY COUNTIES, MO (KFVS) - Six wineries have joined together to create Mississippi River Hills Wine Trail.

Wineries on the trail include three in Perry County - The Barrens Winery in Perryville, Hemman Winery in Brazeau and Tower Rock Vineyard and Winery in Altenburg, and three in Cape Girardeau County - Rothbrick Winery in Jackson, Hunter Valley Winery in Cape Girardeau and Apple Creek Winery in Friedham.

"The six wineries are alike in that we all are family owned and operated, but each has its unique appeal," said Bonnie Hemman, co-owner of Hemman Winery and the original organizer of the trail. "Together we offer a diversity of experiences and wines, from dry and semidry varieties to sweet and fruity offerings. Among the six of the wineries, there's something for everyone."

Governor Nixon declares Oct. 14-20 Earth Science Week 2012

JEFFERSON CITY, MO (KFVS) -  Gov. Jay Nixon declared the week of October 14 through October 20 as Earth Science Week 2012 to bring awareness to the fact that earth sciences are fundamental to the health, safety and welfare of all Missourians.

“Discovering Careers in the Earth Sciences” was selected by the American Geosciences Institute as the theme of Earth Science Week 2012 to boost awareness about the geosciences and the many exciting career and job opportunities in the field.

Through careers in geology, geophysics, oceanography, hydrology, paleontology, earth science education and many other fields, they enhance our understanding of Earth processes and improve the quality of human life.
