Perry County Health System Skeet Shoot raised over $10,000 for their Children's Healthcare Fund | Community Spirit

PERRY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Perry County Health System organized a skeet shoot this past fall to provide support for their Children's Healthcare Fund.

Being faced with a child with an illness or disability can create many challenges for a family. Therefore, Perry County Health System established the fund to benefit local children with extensive healthcare needs.

The response to this new endeavor was overwhelming described Patrick Carron, President/CEO of Perry County Memorial Hospital.

“Everyone involved has been extremely dedicated to making the event and children’s healthcare fund a success, which has set the foundation for the years ahead,” Carron said.

Due to the great response, the skeet shoot will be held annually.

A major participant involved with the event was Frank Robinson and the Robinson Construction crew.

“Robinson Construction played an integral role in this event and their participation was invaluable," Carron said. "In addition, each sponsor and participant played a vital role as well and their contributions were impressive."

With the skeet shoot, multiple sponsorship levels were available. The corporate sponsors included:

On the day of the event, the weather was great and the participants were treated to a day of skeet shooting, their choice of a steak or salmon dinner, and competitive shooting games. For the skeet shoot competition, first place went to the Robinson Construction team, second place to the Zoellner Construction team, and third place to the ARCO team. For the flag competition, first place went to The Bank of Missouri, second place to Robinson Construction, and third place to TG Missouri. The top individual score went to Jason Blandford who competed on the Zoellner Construction team.

With everyone’s participation, Perry County Health System raised approximately $10,800 for the Children’s Healthcare Fund. With this fund now established, Perry County Health System is forming a committee as well as creating an application process to determine the recipient of these funds. The goal is for all of the funds to be used by the families and children in need in advance of the 2013 skeet event. The donation will benefit local children who are suffering from serious illness and who, along with their families, are under significant financial strain.
