You can register now for the 7th Annual Polar Plunge Feb. 2

(KFVS) - The 7th Annual Polar Plunge will take place February 2.

Brave men and women from around the area will don costumes and swimwear and take “polar” dips into Lake Boutin. Their Reason for Freezin’ is the athletes of Special Olympics Missouri. All proceeds from this year’s event will benefit training and competition for the 1,100 Special Olympics Missouri athletes here in the Southeast Area.

The Polar Plunge is open to anyone 10 years or older who is a fan of having a good time for a good cause. The event is hosted by Cape Girardeau Police Department and will take place at the Lake Boutin, 429 Moccasin Springs, Jackson, Mo. Day-of registration begins at noon and the Plunge starts at 2 p.m.

The City of Perryville to host 28th Annual Perryville Mayfest, Craft Fair

PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) - The 28th Annual Perryville Mayfest and Craft Fair will be May 10-11.

The Mayfest will include a parade and music on Friday evening, followed by the craft fair on Saturday. There will also be live entertainment, bed-races, contests and more on Saturday.

A carnival will also be May 8-11.

Christmas Country Church Tour Dec. 21-22

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Christmas Country Church Tour will be Friday, December 21 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Janet Fielder says last year, the little church in New Wells had 504 visitors and St. Joseph in Apple Creek had over 700 visitors.

The tour will feature over 20 church in Cape Girardeau, Bollinger and Perry Counties in Missouri. All churches will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The following churches will be participating this year:
