Ill. man arrested in connection to Perryville burglary | Crime
PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) - The Perry County Sheriff's Department reports they arrested a Rockwood, Ill. man on Sunday, September 4 in connection with a burglary in Perryville.
Daniel Luttman, 22, was arrested Sunday and police say they will be seeking charges of first degree burglary, stealing a gun and misdemeanor stealing - less than $500.
According to police, on Sunday, September 4 at about 7:30 a.m. John Chappius of 1839 North Main Street in Perryville reported a burglary at his home. A deputy responded and secured the home. It was discovered a small amount of money was taken, along with a .38 caliber revolver.
Police say a short time later a suspicious person was reported walking north on Highway 51 towards Chester, Ill. A deputy found the man, Luttman, and it was discovered he had an outstanding warrant from Louisiana for second degree battery. Police say after a short chase, Luttman was taken into custody.
According to the sheriff's department, an investigation revealed Luttman did burglarize the Chappius home earlier that day. He took Perry County Sheriff's office personnel to where he had stashed the stolen revolver and gave a full confession.
Luttman is currently being held at the Perry County Jail pending burglary charges, as well as the charges from Louisiana.
