Perry County hospital adds Breast Care clinic | News

PERRY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Perry County Memorial Hospital and Perryville Surgical Clinic welcomes a new Breast Surgeon.

Theresa A. Cavins, MD, FACS, joins the PCMH medical staff offering a monthly total breast care specialty clinic for women with breast health concerns, particularly those with newly discovered abnormalities found through mammography and/or a physical exam.

Cavins is the medical director of Metis Breast Care, a specialty breast health clinic with three locations throughout the Festus and Southeast Missouri area. She earned her medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine. She is also certified though the American Board of Surgery.

PCMH recognized the opportunity to be able to add Dr. Cavins’ specialty services in addition to offering up-to-date technology through breast MRI, stereotactic breast biopsy, and digital mammography, which is accredited by the American College of Radiology.

Cavins joins surgeons D. Michael Steele and Joseph Sharlow of Perryville Surgical Clinic and will provide total breast care both in the clinic and in PCMH’s state-of-the-art surgery department.
