PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS)- Perryville honored its hometown veterans with the opening of a military museum.
The museum exhibits artifacts such as uniforms, medals and soldiers' letters home.
"It's very gratifying," said curator Nancy Moore. "It's also a great tribute to how this community started and how it's progressed."
The artifacts come from modern day wars like those in Iraq and Afghanistan, all the way back to the Spanish-American War.
The official opening for the museum took place Sunday with a dedication service at 11 a.m. followed by the ribbon cutting at noon.
The museum is located at the Perryville Higher Education building on South Progress Drive.
