Car swerves to avoid truck, runs off road on Hwy. 51 near Perryville | News

PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) - The Missouri Highway Patrol responded to a crash Thursday, February 7 around 8 a.m. on Highway 51 near Perryville, north of County Road 600.
According to officers, Monica Jennings, 21 from Perryville, was driving her 2003 Ford Focus southbound when she swerved to avoid another vehicle in her lane. Officers say the car drove off the right side of the road and hit a culvert.
Jennings was taken to Perry County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Officers day Lynn T. Richardet, 53 from Perryvlle, was driving a 2012 Ford F250 northbound on Hwy. 51 in the wrong lane of traffic and forced Jennings off the road. The truck then drove off the left side of the road and hit a ditch.
Richardet was taken to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau by medical helicopter with moderate injuries.
