Memorial donated to CP Rehab Department at PCMH

PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) - A memorial hangs on the wall of the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department at Perry County Memorial Hospital paying respect to one of the program’s participants who recently passed away.

Clyde Behrle had been active in the rehabilitation program since April 1998. He attended three times a week and enjoyed the program not only for the health benefits, but also because he enjoyed the company and support of fellow patients and the staff.

“He provided a lot of encouragement to the newcomers,” said Betty Yount, Director of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation. “A lot of times people enjoy their time here not just for the physical benefit, but for the emotional support, and Mr. Behrle was a very sweet, kind man.”

Altenburg student gets 'Make-A-Wish' suprise

ALTENBURG, MO (KFVS) - According to Superintendent Mr. Bleau Deckerd, Altenburg Public School 1st Grader Emaleigh Cairns got her wish granted by the Make A Wish Foundation on Thursday.

Emaleigh's wish was granted. In July, she will be taking her family to Walt Disney World in Florida.

"Emaleigh was diagnosed with cancer one year ago to the day and with the help of God, family, friends and wonderful physicians she is beating cancer," said Mr. Deckerd.

Emaleigh is the daughter of Nathan and Chris Cairns from Altenburg.

Nathan was not able to make the event, but he was able to join in from New Mexico via FaceTime on the Internet.

Mid America Rehab welcomes back Ryan Buchheit

PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) - Mid America Rehab, the county’s first rehabilitation and wellness center, welcomes Ryan Buchheit, Physical Therapist, Certified Hand Therapist, and Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist, back to the Perryville location.

Ryan Buchheit is a 2001 graduate of Maryville University in St. Louis. He began his physical therapy career working for Mid America Rehab at their Perryville location in September 2001 and has been working at their Ste. Genevieve location as the director since May 2007. In November 2008, Buchheit completed his training and testing to become a Certified Hand Therapist. Buchheit is now transitioning back to the Perryville Mid America Rehab location as of February 2013.
